Elderly Man Faces 25 Counts of Child Porn

Child porn has no bounds. While men are much more likely to be attracted to it than women, you may imagine a middle-aged man as the average perpetrator. You may be shocked that an 84-year-old Florida man was the latest person to be arrested for child porn possession in the state.

The man was arrested in early February at his home, located in the Village of Largo. He is facing 25 counts of child porn possession. The man’s attorney entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf and he is currently free on a $500,000 bond.

Detectives assigned to Sumter County’s Child Exploitation Investigations Unit began investigating the man after receiving tips someone at his address was uploading child porn. The uploaded images involved children under the age of 5.

The man was interviewed by law enforcement officials before he was arrested and he had a lot to say about the situation. He claimed his wife did not access his computer – a Gateway computer – as she was not very computer savvy. He also admitted that he is the only one to access his computer. He tried to clean up his computer history using an app called “CCleaner.” The man also does not use a cell phone.

The man also detailed the type of porn he likes to view. He admitted that he “looks at Japanese women pornography” and his favorite website is one called Private Society.

However, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement performed a forensic analysis on the man’s computer and found numerous images of young children in sexually explicit positions. Many children were younger than 5 in various poses with adult men. The children were seen in a bathtub and lying on a beach towel. They were wearing various clothing, such as black thigh high stockings with black high heels and a pink hat. One child appeared to be unconscious.

The man was arrested for 25 counts of child porn possession and booked into the Sumter County Detention Center.
